Full Diagnostic
Assessment

This assessment is needed for a formal diagnosis of dyslexia. We are happy to assess children and adults from age 8 upwards. The assessment takes about 3 hours, but this can take place over two sittings. Within two weeks, you will receive a detailed report explaining the assessment results, making key recommendations for support, and making a diagnosis if appropriate. A diagnosis can be used to support an application for the Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) at university or to support a request for accommodations in the work place. All reports follow guidelines set out by SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC).

The Process

Full Diagnostic Assessment

£550

Not sure?

Why not do a screener first for £50, which will be taken off the cost of a full assessment if you decide to go ahead based on the recommendations?

  1. Make a booking online from our website, by filling in a booking form or by getting in touch directly via email.

  2. You will be contacted by your allocated assessor within 48 hours to finalise an assessment date and to share a link to an online form that you will need to fill in detailing difficulties. For school-age children, this should be done by a parent or guardian. This form includes a GDPR privacy notice and the terms and conditions for the assessment and payment. For school-age children, you will also receive a link to a questionnaire to be filled in by school so that we get a full picture of needs. If you are local to the Canterbury area, you may wish to request a face-to-face assessment instead of an online one.

  3. Once a date has been arranged, and the terms and conditions agreed, your assessor will contact you with:

    • A link to the online meeting (Zoom / Google Meet) which will be used for the assessment

    • An invoice for the fee, payable before the assessment

    • Information about what you will need to have to hand on the day of the assessment (e.g. paper, pen, computer screen size, webcam etc.)You will also be asked to share a copy of any previous, related assessments that have been done

  4. On the day of the assessment, you will need a quiet space with no interruptions or distractions.

  5. You will receive the diagnostic assessment report within two weeks of the assessment date, providing the invoice has been paid in full.
